Field Flowers

Years ago at a Stampin' Up! Convention we made a card similar to this.  I hung onto to it all these years because I LOVED it!  But I finally let it go and decided to make a replacement.  To make the card you cut your 8 1/2 X 11 paper in half the long way.  Then score at about 1 1/4" for the flap and about 4 3/4" for the fold.  The original card didn't have any kind of closure, but I had these cute Sale-a-bration brads and decided to make a little button with a ribbon loop to keep the card shut.  The colors are Rich Razzleberry and Island Indigo.  The pattern paper is from the Sweet Shop paper pack in the Mini.

Flower Garden Embossing Folder

This is another idea using the crayon resist with the embossing folder.  The colors are Peach Parfait and Pool Party.  I used some of the Sale-a-bration pattern paper.  I also used the Beautiful Wings embosslits die.

Mixed Bunch

This is the card we made at Stamp Club a couple of nights ago.  We did the crayon resist technique using the Elegant Lines embossing folder.  First lay your Whisper White card stock over the raised side of the folder and then rub the paper with the flat side of a white crayon.  Next brayer over the top with your desired color of ink - we used Lucky Limeade.  After that just take a tissue and lightly rub the ink from the crayon image.  The flower is stamped in Wisteria Wonder and we used the Blossom punch to punch it out.  To 'curl' the flower we used a bone folder.  The Mixed Blossom set and coordinating punch can be found in the Occasions Mini Catalog.  The cute polk-a-dot paper is from the Sweet Shop paper also in the Mini.

Adri's 12th Birthday!

Adri talked us into giving her this awesome bike a day early.  On her Birthday she woke up at 5:30 a.m., got herself ready and headed out to ride her bike for a couple of hours before school started.  I think she likes it!

Adri started out her birthday on Thursday having a party with the Sorensen bunch.

Adri loved all of her birthday gifts!  These are big jawbreakers on a stick!

Her second party was Friday after school.

Her friends walked home with her and they immediately got busy and painted their own picture frames.  We had a picture of all of them sent to the one hour photo so they could have a fun reminder of the party.

After we finished the frames we headed up to Adri's grandpa and grandma's house to eat pizza and watch a movie in their theater room.

It was a fun day!!!  Happy Birthday Adri!
You're growing up so fast!

Mixed Bunch

The colors I used for this card are Poppy Red, Lucky Limeade, Pool Party and Very Vanilla.  The flower is embossed with white embossing powder and then I used a sponge to rub Early Espresso ink on it.  It gave it more of the vintage/Very Vanilla look. The pretty Sale-a-bration paper was first mounted on Lucky Limeade card stock and then ran through the Big Shot with the Petals-a-plenty embossing folder.  After that I once again rubbed it with the Early Espresso ink for the vintage look and to make the embossed flowers show up a little better.  The ribbons are Very Vanilla 1/8" taffeta and 3/8" ruffled Pool Party.

Valentine's Day Gingerbread Houses

Grandma Sorensen wasn't able to fit in gingerbread houses at Christmas time so she decided to do Valentine's Day houses.  What a great idea!  We did it yesterday after the kids got out of school.  There was tons of candy to choose from and the kids had fun taste testing it all.  The mom's had fun too!  We ended up decorating the houses at my house because Grandma's is being painted.

The kids worked really hard and all did a
great job with their decorating!

Here's Tori working on her house.  It took her a
long time to place each tiny little heart sprinkle
just where she wanted it on the roof.  She has a
little pond to the side with a frog in it.

Adri made a smartie house.
She taste tested the frosting quite a bit.

Tori's finished house.

Adri's finished house.

Justus was gone when all of the cousins were over.  He worked on his a little, but didn't quite get it finished.

He said he had the song 'Love Shak' stuck in his head.  Very fitting for a Valentine's day gingerbread house!

Thanks Grandma for the fun day!

Fancy Flower Punch

This is actually Hostess paper from last years catalog.  I loved how it looked with both of the In Colors: Wisteria Wonder and Concord Crush.  It's a pretty simple card.  I did add some scallops with the Adorning Accents edglits dies.  After I punched the flower I crinkled it up and then split it into two and layered it.

Field Flowers

I love, love, love this stamp set!  I have a thing for flowers. I ran some of the Poppy Red SAB Everyday Enchantment paper through the Big Shot using the Square Lattice embossing folder to add some texture for the background behind the flowers. The ribbon is the White Organza.  I also used the Tiny Tags stamp set and the Jewelry Tag punch, just because I think it's so little and cute!  The Mini Brads worked perfect to attach the tag.

Adorning Accents Embossing Folder

3 folders come with the Adorning Accent embossing folders in the Occasions Mini Catalog.  Two coordinate with the Adorning Accent edgelits dies and the third one is cute little hearts that I've used on this card.  The colors are Blushing Bride and Rose Red.  I've used the Rose Red Seam Binding Ribbon and some of the Basic Rhinestone Jewels.  The greeting is from the Short and Sweet stamp set.

Blossom Punch

I love this new Blossom Punch from the Occasions Mini Catalog.  This is the first card I have made with it.  I also got the Mixed Bunch stamp set that coordinates with the punch.  I just need to put it together!  The paper is from Sale-a-bration's Everyday Enchantment paper.  I also used some old Poppy Parade pattern paper.  The greeting is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set.

Fresh Vintage

This was my card trade for Stamp Club.  Once again I used the free items from Sale-a-bration and the new Adorning Accents edgelits dies and embossing folders.  I also used the Versamark and chalk technique.

Fresh Vintage

Everything you see on this card can be earned for FREE when you Host a $400 party.  Stamp set, paper, ribbon and brads.  Awesome!  This is the card we made at club.  I wanted to show them the free Sal-a-bration items as well as the fun new Adorning Accents Edgelits Dies and Embossing Folders from the Occasions Mini Catalog.  They make fun detailed cuts on the edge of your card and then you can also emboss the same design.  To color the Vintage flowers we first stamped in Versmark and then used Q-tips and chalks to color.
